Dutch Oven – Baked Farfalle Alfredo

Everybody loves a good Alfredo. This baked version uses Farfalle pasta with garlic and onions. Balancing these strong flavors is the hint of bacon sauteed with chicken breast. Farfalle means “Butterfly” in Italian. You won’t have butterflies in your stomach with this low stress meal. The nice thing about baked pasta, is you don’t have to dirty more than one Dutch oven!

Roasting/Baking
60 minutes
6-8 Servings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 side bacon, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 large chicken breast, chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 packets Alfredo sauce mix
  • 12 oz package bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/2 cup colby jack cheese

Brown bacon in 12″ Dutch oven. Add garlic, onions and chicken. Cook until all meat is fully cooked. Add pasta, milk and Alfredo sauce mix, stir until blended. Add water, parmesan cheese and salt & pepper. Stir ensuring all pasta are covered in liquid. Cover and add top coals and bake for 20 minutes. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and bake until melted.
